EU Pay Transparency Directive

How are other businesses dealing with and interpreting the equal pay study aspect of the EU Pay transparency directive?

Hi all, REBA Acumen members can access a REBA report on this very topic - Readiness for EU Pay Transparency: Part 1 (Data) Published Aug 2025 and is available to download when accessing your REBA Acumen account. We have a 2nd Case study based report which will add value to this question being released very soon.

Many Thanks
Jayne Corbett, REBA

Hi Agita

I asked a similar question on here a few months back, and REBA set up a working party to discuss off the back of that. We had an initial call and some of the group met at the conference a few weeks ago. It may be worth contacting REBA to ask if you can join the group - Jayne Corbett organised this.

In terms of our response as a business, we have a large proportion of our workforce employed in the EU so we are actively working on this. We are currently reviewing our policies and procedures around recruitment, talent and reward, and are investigating our pay gaps across jobs of equal value. We are also preparing a comms & change plan to brief leaders, managers, trade unions, colleagues etc.

The main challenge we have is that legislation has not been published in most cases so everything we are doing now is approximate until we have the specific legislation to follow in each country.

Hope this helps, let me know if you would like anything more specific on our approach (I presented a case study at the working group so happy to share more!)

Thanks

Rob

We honestly haven't yet started to think about what or how this will look, but interested to see what other companies are proposing to do.

Good Q! Looking forward to others' perspectives. We are taking a position across the EU to drive consistency and a beneficial employee / candidate experience, and then asking our lawyers to determine their level of comfort with this. Safe to say this is a moving feast...
