Hi, Having been a Reward Manager for a number of years, i'm seeking additional development and would like to understand from my peers the professional development and training you may have undertaken.
I have reviewed CIPD Reward L7, however, I don't feel its teaching me anything new having been in my role a long time.
Can anyone make any suggestions for a greater stretch?
Many thanks
Helen
I have similar aspirations to study again. I have joined IEBA - International Employee Benefit Association - they seem to have regular network events, european meetings and they operate a Diploma. They also have connections with pension management institute. I plan to give the diploma ago. I know it is benefits focussed but it looks interesting and it will get me back into academic mentality again. I concur with WorldatWork.
Another vote for world at work. Also the pensions management institute used to do an international benefits stand alone module (2x exams) which had quite a lot of detail on a few selected countries. I also wonder if something like Prince 2 would be interesting as there is so much project management in our roles nowadays...but in all honesty I find most of my education comes "on the job" resulting from whatever fire I am fighting at the time!
Members of my team have used the World at Work reward courses with Dianne Auld and spoken very highly of them. She has also published a few good books.
We use World at Work Global Reward Professional (GRP) accreditation. It's quite US centric but is thorough and covers a good range of reward disciplines. It's modular (8 modules) and examined with option of Face-to-Face or E-Learning.
If you're looking for something shorter QCG run a very good one day introduction to reward course.
