Real Living Wage

We are about to seek Real Living Wage accreditation. We have paid above the Real Living Wage to our direct employed staff and in respect of agency staff for several years, but keen for views from other organisations regarding application to supply chains. Specifically:

- Do you focus on on-site suppliers only (requirement for accreditation) or do you go further to all / certain categories of suppliers?

- If you go further, how do you define which suppliers are in/out of scope?

- How do you deal with offshore suppliers where different labour standards exist?

- What lessons might you have around approaches to implementation – e.g. timelines, adopt at next renewal, adopt within X years etc?

Would really welcome any views - thank you in advance!
Iain

Thanks Guy, that's one of the options we are looking at. Also just looking at whether we go beyond on site people.

Hi, we operate to the RLW standard and have done for many years now. We apply it to all our directly employed staff and have relevant clauses written into our contracts with suppliers who provide services at our sites only. We apply the new terms at the next available contract renewal period, which in our case means within three years.
