We (US listed) use (RSU style) phantoms in a few markets. More than happy to share experience. Headlines in my experience:
- different funding methods between stock and phantom schemes, critical to make sure finance are clear on what is used
- easy for phantoms to be treated (unconsciously) as second order to equity in terms of employee comms and engagement
- few people want to "own" it!!
