Hi Everyone
Does anyone have experience of running a Workplace Nursery Scheme using salary sacrifice. I have seen some previous posts but they are older and I know that HMRC have issued some updates regarding the requirements in order for it to qualify as a salary sacrifice scheme. We have a small population in UK and I have some concerns around the following - employees leaving or going on maternity whilst participating in the scheme. Who picks up the costs for the remaining part of the contract with the Nursery? If we only have a small uptake will we cover the costs that we have to make to the Nursery as part of the funding? How active do we need to be in terms of involvement in the Nursery? Could we potentially end up with multiple contracts with different Nurseries if our employees all choose different ones based on where they live and what are the potential risks as an employer?
REBA recently ran an article on this issue that might be of use: https://reba.global/resource/how-employers-can-help-working-parents-with-childcare-costs.html
Hi Katie - we have also been looking at this. Similar to yourself we have had lots of questions and the various providers have been able to answer most questions. I still have a number of outstanding points; - integration with payroll system - options for employees that do not meet minimum due to NMW - options for colleagues outside UK - company brand linked to nursery. If anyone can assist with these points, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. We recently introduced a new Workplace Nursery Benefit through Enjoy Benefits. This is a salary sacrifice scheme. It has been very easy and straight forward to introduce - Enjoy Benefits have been great to work with so far. I suggest having a call with Enjoy Benefits around your questions - they will be able to answer all of them for sure.
