Hi
I'm trying to do some quick benchmarking on expenses policies - does anyone have a good source of data?
Key points:
Upper class flights for what min flight time?
£ limit for breakfast when leaving home early
£ limit for lunch
£ limit for evening meal
Thanks
Michelle
We don't offer first class.
Breakfast up to £12 - if you are leaving home before 6am and you are travelling to an office that isn't your own and the commute is over 2 hours. £12 if your hotel doesn't include B&B rate
Lunch - Up to £12 if you are on an overnight stay and only for the 2nd (or subsequent) day(s) of travel
Evening Meal - up to £30 outside of London on / £35 Inside London - can be claimed on overnight stay or when you are not returning home from an office that isn't your usual place of work after 9pm.
Hi Michelle:
For first class travel, by air or train, there's usually a 4 hour travel time rule. However, also factor in whether the person would need to work or rest whilst travelling.
For breakfast, being required to set off before 7am normally entitles someone to spend upto £10. Remind travel bookers to request breakfast if they're staying overnight.
Lunch isn't normally claimable, unless the person requests to have that instead of a breakfast or it's a business meeting / all day training etc.
Evening meal is usually upto £25 outside London or upto £35 inside. This usually excludes alcohol but includes tips.
