Salary Sacrifice and sending updated contract change letter

Hi All,

This is my first post on the community and am looking for some advice on Salary Sacrifice deductions, our Tax Manager has mentioned that contractual change letters for each Salary Sacrifice offering the individual takes out should happen.

Do you issue salary adjustment letters when someone takes up a Salary Sacrifice item (for example Car, Pension, C2W scheme)?

Most employers I have worked for never issue a new letter as you sign an agreement, however not sure if this is something legally required.

Thanks for your help in advance
James

Hi Samantha & Teresa, thanks so much for your help, I will look into this and make sure we have something similar prior to our launch of the scheme.

We have wording in our employee benefits portal that Samantha Kitteringham mentions. "This Salary Sacrifice Agreement ("Agreement") is herby confirmed to vary terms and conditions of employment between myself ("Employee") and my Employer ("Employer") and three pages of terms.

We have wording in our employee benefits portal that must be read and agreed to before the selection will submit which acts as the variation to employment terms. The wording is also included in the automated acknowledgement email that the employee receives. For some benefits there's also a signed agreement with the provider e.g. cycle to work which also handles the variation.
