Hi all Has anyone recently looked into providing loans and/or salary sacrifice for employees to install charging points as employees home. The company is not looking to fund this but looking for the best way to help employees ?
Yes we have run an Electric Car lease scheme with Tusker for nearly 4 years now. We negotiated free charge point installations as part of that package at the point when the government funding/grants ceased.
We did look into it but found there wasn't the same level of SS on these schemes in the same way Cycle2Work etc works.
We have secured some deals with a supplier who offer a cheaper install and more recently our fleet team have managed to secure some free car charger installs from some of the bigger car suppliers (think this will become more of the norm.)
There needs to be a strong lobby from business to encourage some new 'greener' salary sacrifice benefits that same both the employee and the employer.
Hi Sally I have heard some companies giving interest free 'green' loans, same as travel loans. Installing charging points counts as a green initiative.
