Hi
We are looking at replacing our expenses claim process with a voucher scheme for eye tests and VDU glasses. Having problems finding a suitable scheme. The main issues being that expenses allows a lot of flexibility for employees, but is tax inefficient. The voucher schemes we have looked at all seem to be limited to one opticians or the voucher use is too restrictive.
Which voucher schemes are you using?
Thanks!

Hi Zoe,
We use EyeMed. The offer vouchers at David Clulow, Boots, Vision Express and independents.
We use Smart Employee Eye Care for our eye test programme which works well. Employees request a voucher and receive an email with their voucher. This can be used at any opticians within the SEE network...doesn't include Specsavers or Boots though!
Another recommendation for Specsavers. It's a no brainer
We implemented a healthcare cash plan last year and guide all colleagues to that in the first instance. the lowest figure they can claim for optical is £70 with more senior colleagues getting £110. there is a benefit in kind tax implication, so for those who have chosen not to opt into this we still give them an ability to claim through expenses, or use a voucher from a previous relationship we had. (I won't recommend them as they used to include all of the big players but the different opticians have mostly opted out of others' schemes to only offer their own scheme so only some local companies are now available)
