Hi there
Could members please share whether or not they pay the higher AMAP rate to employees who receive a cash for car allowance, or if they just pay the lower AFR amount. If paying AMAP, is this up to a particular mileage threshold?
Also, if anyone is happy to share what their cash for car allowance rates are for lower, middle and senior management & higher levels I'd be very grateful, as this would aid the review we are carrying out. If you'd prefer to share privately, please email me at helen.mcgowan@travisperkins.co.uk
Many thanks
Helen
The higher rates generally go to people using their own car (car allowance or casual user)
The lower rates go to people using a car provided by the company (lease or hire)
We've just been through this exercise very recently. One of businesses has upped their mileage rate to 30p, the rest are staying at 20p for now (with a view to align all businesses next year). Hope this helps! I will email you our car allowance rates.
Hi Helen. We don't have any cash allowances anymore but when we did we only reimbursed business mileage at AFR.
