Parental leave: RSU vesting

Fellow colleagues!

I am reviewing our RSU vesting in conjunction with the new parental leave policy and would be keen to know what other companies are doing for employees on family/parental leave (paid ): continue vesting for the whole duration or only part (and what is the point at which vesting stops).

Thank you!
Christina

My experience is the same as an earlier poster. There is no restriction for maternity and parental leave, assuming that the leave-taker returns to work. I have seen pro-rating, however, for voluntary unpaid sabbaticals of over 6 months, but rarely.

Great question Christina! How long a leave duration are you working with, and is it paid/unpaid? A 90 or 180 day vest period is fairly common, but I would always recommend to apply this to all protected leave types - long term sick etc. You could apply a faster toll of say 30 days for unprotected/unpaid leaves, eg personal leave or an unpaid career break.Best,Elle

Interesting question! We continue to run the plan normally (no restrictions or pro-rations on vesting or grants).
