We are reviewing our pre-retirement course provision. Historically, our employees (and their partners) have been able to book on open courses run by Mercer (previously LaterLife). However, following a review, Mercer have concluded that their retirement open workshops are no longer profitable due to low numbers attending and are switching to a virtual half-day option.
Are there any providers still running face-to face open courses in various locations over the UK?
Or are the options now either face-to-face in house courses or virtual courses?
Our employees are all over the UK and given employee numbers, any in-house courses would probably only be worth running in one or two locations and we are looking to have a solution which is accessible for as many employees as possible. Any recommendations around providers would be really useful. Ideally we would like a pre-retirement course that focuses on the broader transition to retirement and not just financial matters.
Hi! We are c3k employees in UK, mainly Hampshire, with full range of work - from 24/7 "blue collar" operations through world class R&D, and other functions like commercial, supply chain etc. We use a company to provide corporate pension support and also to engage with employees, which we pay for.
They do face to face, remote - can support odd times etc and have off the shelf stuff as well as bespoke to circumstances (e.g. different life stages such as pre retirement, or site redundancies). They always get decent feedback from employees and I find working with them corporately is good too.
It is pension guidance rather than advice, and they do touch on non-pension stuff as needed.
Happy to introduce if anyone likes - but won't name them here as not sure that is appropriate.
Hi Hannah, my organisation are also looking at this. It looks like we're going to do this via e-/remote learning, so people can access what they need when they need it. It will have 3 Topic areas, your work & career, your health & wellbeing and your finances and pension. Interested to see how our front line colleague, many of whom work shifts or have more than one job, get on with this approach.
