I have been told that its common for companies in the US to subsidise commuting costs. I know there is a commuter scheme which allows people to purchase transport costs from their pre tax salary, however i can't find any information about companies supplementing this. Does any do this? Thanks
We also use our FSA provider Navia for this. In some states it's mandatory to offer this which we weren't aware of as we're a 100% remote firm. So we had to offer this benefit but there's been no take up and doubt there ever will be!
Yes, we do this through our FSA provider. Employees can use it for either transit or parking costs up to $280 pm. It's IRS regulated and on a use it or lose it basis, with no rollover.
