I'm conducting a review of our current practice, which is to provide an annual company-paid medical to our Director level and above population. Eligibility is by level and no other criteria is specified.
I am curious to understand your practices here - do you offer annual checks, or are they every two to three years?
I guess it all depends on an organisations attitude to risk and the general physical wellbeing of their senior employees, but I am not sure an annual health check is always necessary.
That said, if you can provide a company-paid annual health check, isn't that really the best Health and Wellbeing support an employer can provide? It would go some way beyond the kind of support that an EAP might offer, for example, given that a comprehensive check usually includes a lifestyle assessment and a discussion with a clinician and a nutritionist.
A late response I know! We provide annual health assessments to all UK employees and these have been very valuable, few employees found early stages of Cancer through these checks and were able to receive treatment quickly. A great preventative tool, particularly where it now seems preventative wellbeing is number 1 for most employers to manage the rising cost of healthcare.
We currently use BUPA.
In my experience i've seen employee focused organisations paying for an annual health check for all employees and it was a huge differentiator, and a very loved benefit. If you can afford it, it's an incredible addition. That being said, if not possible for everyone, can you do a contribution towards one?
Otherwise, I find an annual health check for all senior leaders is standard.

We provide annual check for all UK based employees - its a tiered assessment depending on age. eg over or under 40 and gender specific. We find uptake is circa 35-40% of staff and Nuffield reach out to all to offer this annually this sits alongside out own internal promotion. We have been with Nuffield for a few years now and we and staff particularly like how the assessment can be tailored depending on medical or family health history.

We offer an annual health screening for all of our staff regardless of job grade. It's a comprehensive screening of cardiovascular, body chemistry and physiological markers. We have recently switched to HCA from Nuffield and we've had positive feedback.
To your point, preventative health checks are a crucial part of the health and welfare benefits an employer can provide.
